South Beach

The South Beach Diet eliminates carbohydrates and fats that can lead to weight gain.   The diet says by cutting the “bad” carbs out of your diet, you body’s level of cholesterol and insulin will also decrease leading to weight loss.

The diet consists of three phases, which initially restrict certain foods and then restore them to your diet slowly. Dieticians say the South Beach Diet is a good way to lose weight in a healthy way initially, but dieters may have a hard time keeping it off if they don’t stick with it.

  1. Good point! Yes, I agree on the idea of diet that “this MUST be a lifestyle change”. If you just do the crash diets it’ll only result to some sort of disease. Thanks for sharing posts like this and making more people aware. 🙂

  2. I like the part “With your new eating habits, you can eat everything – really! – but in smaller portions and in moderation.” This is very true. It does take time though to shrink your stomach so you won’t feel hungry all the time. Here is a great program I found that lets you eat anything you want, and you only have to do a slight workout 15 minutes per day.

Also, where was the Special K diet? It wasn’t on the list.

    • If the diet wasn’t on the list, it’s because it didn’t make the list as most effective. There are soooo many out there!
