Final Destination (2000 Horror/Thriller, Rated R)
People often make fun of these films but you cannot deny the squirms from your friends and family as you watch them together. They are fun yet gory films that are not so much for the family but totally teen friendly (give or take a few scenes).
Ernest Scared Stupid (1991 Family/Comedy, Rated PG)
My absolute favourite Halloween movie when I was a kid. I watched this movie my entire life and still enjoy it. This is Ernest at his finest. The trolls at the end always scared me when I was younger but nothing to stop me from sleeping at night. Perfect for the family.
Paranormal Activity (2007 Horror/Mystery, Rated R)
Suspense driven and handy-cam action make this an easy Halloween must-see. Scary, fun to watch with friends but also fun to see if you can make it all the way through when home alone with the lights off.
Inside (2007 Horror/Thriller, Rated R)
Like Martyrs this movie had a lot of scenes that I could have lived without seeing but it was a good horror movie. NOT family friendly but less intense than Martyrs but it still involves very large scissors. Yup, watch the trailer first to make sure it’s up your alley.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974 Horror/Thriller, Rated R)
The classic tale of horror, a Halloween scary movie list would not be complete without it. I know I’m not the only one who tenses up in suspense more than they can count turning this movie.

Not a huge horror fan, but Carrie and Rosemary’s Baby scared the Bejesus out of me!
Both of those are awesome! Need to watch some this weekend!
