Hanna (Action/Mystery)

Starring: Saoirse Ronan, Cate Blanchett and Eric Bana

Director: Joe Wright

This movie looked so awesome in the trailers and it beat every expectation I had and then blew my mind. I love Saoirse Ronan. This chick rocks! The story was beyond interesting and the action is perfection. Hanna came out, everyone was talking and now slowly people are re-noticing it and I’m glad they are.

Harry Potter (Fantasy/Adventure)

Starring:  Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint

Director: David Yates

The end. A decade of our lives wrapped up in an emotional masterpiece of cinema. I cannot say enough about this film so I will just leave it at this: SEE IT!

The Help (Drama)

Starring: Emma Stone, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer

Director: Tate Taylor

I feared that this was going to be an uber chick flick, and while it was about a women, it was more about women being awesome. This movie has a lot of soul and the story is powerful enough on its own but then they had an amazing cast that made this movie an easy choice for the best of 2011.

Limitless (Mystery/Thriller)

Starring: Bradley Cooper, Anna Friel and Abbie Cornish

Director: Neil Burger

Which movie, you may ask? Yes, Limitless. The movie that really grabbed hold of me at the start of the year. I was completely blown away by this film but now no one knows what it is. To me this was one of the best drug related films I have ever seen because it takes a completely different look at it. Also, Bradley Cooper is gold in this role. Check it out.

Midnight In Paris (Comedy/Romance/Fantasy)

Starring: Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams and Kathy Bates

Director: Woody Allen

Let me start by saying that I have yet to like a Woody Allen film. I know a bunch of you just frowned or stopped reading this article because of that but let me finish by saying that I loved this movie. I am releaved because it showed me what the big deal was all about yet this movie stayed under the radar and has yet to come out. I heart Owen Wilson in this movie and I loved the story. This movie has heart but it also is like nothing I’ve ever seen before.
