Yesterday, it was news about popcorn being the best snack food.

Today, it’s chocolate!

Oh goody!

A new study suggests that people who eat chocolate regularly tend to be thinner.  Those who ate chocolate a few times a week were, on average, slimmer than those who ate it occasionally.

Scientists believe that chocolate contains ingredients that may favour weight loss rather than fat synthesis.

The key is how often you eat chocolate that is important, rather than how much of it you eat. The study found no link with quantity consumed.

For example, having a small piece of dark chocolate a day may be good for you; it contains antioxidants. Other studies says chocolate may be good for the heart.

But don’t be quick to start consuming loads of chocolate!

More clinical trials will have to be conducted.
