The Bachelor Finale: Brad Womack and Emily Maynard Together and Still In Love

brad womack, the bachelor finaleBrad Womack chose Emily Maynard!  Chantal O’Brien was not given the final rose and was heartbroken. 

Reality Steve who has been writing Bachelor spoilers on his blog, was right!

Brad finally was able to profess his love for Emily after being in love with her for quite a while on the show.

On After the Final Rose ceremony, it was revealed that Brad and Emily have already had their issues.  They had even planned to be married today but postponed the wedding!

Why the issues?

Emily said she had anxiety watching the show every Monday night, and was troubled by seeing Brad’s relationships with the other women.

Emily is also concerned about Brad’s temper, which his family has warned her about.  She even went as far as to state on After the Final Rose that she is not ready to move with her daughter to Austin, Texas!

I can understand the feelings they both must be having… not seeing each other for over a month, watching Brad interact with other women on television, and being secretly engaged.  It’s no wonder they’ll have to adjust to the real world.

But, Emily says she is in love with Brad and sees herself getting married to him.  And Brad says he’s more in love with her than with any woman in his entire life.

When Emily appeared on After The Final Rose, she wasn’t wearing the engagement ring!

At the end of the show, he finally present the ring to her – he had to get it re-sized to fit her!  Or maybe even get her a new style, not sure because it didn’t look like the same ring.

I think Brad and Emily will last.  Do you?

Oscar Winners and Oscar Recap: Best Moments, Best Dressed and Who Won!

oscar winners, oscars 2011, oscars, colin firth, The 83rd Academy Awards were held Sunday night.  Who took Oscar home?  Who won Best Picture?  What were the celebs wearing?  How did Anne Hathaway and James Franco do?

Well it was an exciting evening in Los Angeles as the stars walked the red carpet.

There were a few styles on the red carpet, and one theme that stood out was the jewel-encrusted gowns.  There were still lots of neutrals at the Oscars, a look I’ve grown tired of to be honest.  The romantic layered look was also popular.  I was happy to see some awesome colour as well!

Mandy Moore looked beautiful in a jewel encrusted gown as did Michelle Williams in a simple and elegant white Chanel.  Halle Berry was stunning in Marchesa.  One of the best on the red carpet!

Mila Kunis looked stunning in a beautiful purple gown by Elie Saab as did Jennifer Hudson in a orange-red Versace .

It was nice to see some red on the red carpet – Anne Hathaway and Penelope Cruz wore the vibrant colour, as did Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein and Sandra Bullock in Vera Wang.

Worst dressed?  It’s a tie between Nicole Kidman,  Amy Adams and Cate Blanchett.

Grammy Awards 2011: Eminem, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Esperanza Spalding Who?

Did you watch the 2011 Grammy Awards?  There were a ton of performances, with a few awards handed out in between.

Lady Gaga arrived at tonight’s Grammy Awards in the wackiest “outfit” ever.  No, she didn’t walk the red carpet in another meat dress. Or wrapped in bacon. 

This time, she didn’t even walk the red carpet. She was carried… She showed up completely enclosed in an artificial egg and carried.

Inside the egg, Lady Gaga was wearing a black outfit and had with her an oxygen mask, air tank, and a cooling fan.  It can get warm inside an egg, you know.

Gaga then performed her new single, “Born This Way”, and came out of her shell, so to speak.  But her performance was a lot less tame than I expected!

A feel-good song, that many have compared to Madonna’s “Express Yourself”, this is not the Gaga that I love… the performance and song was very mainstream!  THAT was shocking!

The fact that Lady Gaga was NOT shocking was shocking!

As for the awards part of the evening, there were a few upsets. BIG surprises.

Eminem didn’t win Best Album of the year, losing out to Canadian rock band Arcade Fire.

Recovery was Eminem’s highly-anticipated comeback album and he finally redeemed himself after his last two albums.  His track with Rihanna “Love the Way you Lie” was a HUGE hit.

So why didn’t he win Album of the Year?

What were the Grammy voting members thinking?

Although I’m a fan of Arcade Fire, and not just because they are from Canada, I thought Eminem should have won this category.  He so deserved to win!  His performance at the Grammys was absolutely amazing too, rocking da house with Dr. Dre.

Another upset: Justin Bieber and Drake losing out to Esperanza Spalding.

The 26-year-old jazz bassist who snatched the Best New Artist Grammy out of the hands of Justin Bieber and Drake, has been making headlines in the jazz world since before her 2006 debut solo album.

Did you read that?  2006!  It’s 2011!  What makes her a “best new artist”???

Justin Bieber has been all over the place!  Perhaps the Grammy voting members didn’t feel he should win a Grammy so early in his career – the 16-year-old needs to work a little harder and longer before winning that honour? 

But the category is “best new artist”, not “best new performer”… and many would argue that although Bieber is a cutie patootie, he’s a better performer than an artist.

But what about Drake?  He could’ve won it…

The 2011 Grammy Awards were big for the ladies — country trio Lady Antebellum took home the most awards with five, while Lady Gaga earned three. Eminem had two honors, but Alternative Rock group Arcade Fire won the coveted Album of the Year.

The Grammys ended with many scratching their heads.  What do you think?

Who Will Win?

The Golden Globes aren’t always a predictor of Oscar gold but the Globes are still the best predictor of what’s to come for the most prestigious awards in Hollywood.

Colin Firth is nominated for best actor.  He won the Golden Globe for his role in The King’s Speech.  Will he take the Oscar home too? 

Mama-to-be Natalie Portman was nominated for an Oscar for her role in Black Swan; she won the Golden Globe for best actress, drama.  But Annette Bening won for The Kids Are All Right for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy.   The Oscars doesn’t have two categories.  So who will take it home?

I also think it’ll be a tight race for best director between Darren Aronofsky for Black Swan and David Fincher for The Social Network.  But Fincher won the Golden Globe… will he also take home Oscar?

Ten Nominations for Best Picture?

The 2011 Academy Awards has 10 nominations for best picture.  TEN.  It seems like too many, doesn’t it?

Perhaps the Academy should look to the Golden Globes and create a separate category for best musical or comedy and one for best drama.

How can Toy Story 3 compete with The Social Network for example? They are two totally different films.

The Social Network won the Golden Globe for Best Drama.  Toy Story 3 won for best animated film at the Golden Globes.  Will it win best Oscar?  Very unlikely.  Did they nominate the animated blockbuster just to show respect?

It’s either going to be The Social Network or Black Swan to win. 

But is it time that the Oscars adopted a separate category for best picture too?

Who Was Snubbed?

Who was snubbed?  Some say The Town should have been nominated, as well as star Ben Affleck. 

Mark Wahlberg was also denied a nod for his role in The Fighter as was Leonardo DiCaprio for his role in Inception, as well as director Christopher Nolan.  Ryan Gosling was snubbed for his role in Blue Valentine – a big disappointment!

Paul Giamatti was not nominated for his role in Barney’s Version, although he won a Golden Globe for best actor in a musical or comedy.

Who else should have made the list?

Top Celebrity Break-ups This Year: Which Couples Called it Quits?

It seemed like a new break-up every week!  Some were predictable but others were pretty shocking.

Here is our list of the top celebrity break-ups this year.

The shocking news that Jesse James was cheating on Sandra Bullock with a stripper and a bunch of other women made Bullock’s filing for divorce the least shocking split of the year.  But still sad nonetheless since we all love Bullock and hate that she was treated so badly!

Courteney Cox and David Arquette announced their separation in October after 11 years of marriage. The couple had been split for some time and David’s frank interview on Howard Stern about the status of their marriage revealed that the couple separated early in the summer but were trying to keep that under wraps.  They are sharing custody of their daughter, Coco. Some say that Arquette never really grew up and it was about time Cox and he split.

Brooke Mueller and Charlie Sheen filed for divorce in November after an insane year of scandals.  Sheen was arrested for assaulting Mueller, and then went on a cocaine binge with a porn star in New York.  His ex, Denise Richards, then started seeing Nikki Sixx.  From one bad boy to another!

When news broke about Tiger Woods cheating on his wife, Elin Nordegren, multiple times, we knew their marriage would be over, and rightfully so!  Why would Tiger even cheat on the gorgeous Elin?  They divorced in August after he had numerous affairs with porn stars, call girls and bottle service ladies. Real classy, Tiger.

Billy Ray Cyrus, filed for divorce from Tish Cyrus after 17 years of marriage amid rumors that she was cheating with rocker Brett Michaels.  Since their split, the family has had a run of bad press, with hottest break-ups this year getting caught on video smoking out of a bong! Ryan Reynolds I hope Miley doesn’t go down the same bad-girl path as Lindsay Lohan…

Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman filed for divorce in October… and she quickly stepped out with new boyfriend Matt Rutler. But not after rumors spread that she was hooking up with Samantha Ronson.  Huh.

Former Playboy model Jenny McCarthy and comedian Jim Carrey split in April after dating for five years.  I kinda liked their relationship and was a little teary eyed when I heard the news.  But two funny people in a relationship is sure to have some draw-backs.

Eva Longoria and Tony Parker filed for divorce in November after rumors of his sexting with a teammates’ wife wrecked their three-year marriage.  The scandal erupted and poor Eva was devastated.

Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva’s shocking split happened after his violent and emotional outbursts that were caught on tape and released to the public, for all to see, hear and enjoy.  Did I say that out loud?

Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson just announced their divorce this December after only two years of marriage.  The sexiest man alive is now single making many women around the world swoon… sigh.
