One Week

Speaking of motorcycles, sometimes when the weather turns nice and vacation days are upon you all you really want to do is back a bag for one and head out on your own. This is a fantastic movie with an amazing performance by Joshua Jackson. Not only do you get to see a person change as they go coast to coast but you get to see the great and beautiful country that is Canada. Not everyone dreams of beaches but rather look to the rugged north with forests and mountains and the beautiful West coast. Smell that fresh air?

Before Sunrise

Easily my favourite romance/travel movie. Once you watch this one you must go and watch the second part, Before Sunset. Two young adults run into each other in Europe and spend the day together and you are there with them from the moment they meet to the time the credits roll. I love this movie not only for the realistic love (which is amazing to watch) but also for the whole concept of running into that one stranger. It happens every time you travel, whether they end up being friends, lovers or acquaintances for the day. The random run ins are what really makes a trip worth re-telling.

Indiana Jones

This movie defines adventure. Any and all of these movies should be on every favourite travel movies list. Not only is Harrison Ford amazing, which he is, but this is full of back to back adventure, comedy, beautiful landscapes and maybe a few booby traps. Maybe you can’t be Indiana Jones, but you can allow yourself to daydream about it while contemplating whether you really hate snakes more than the thought of monkey brains.

The Hangover

Spring break means party. Nothing means the ultimate party of a lifetime than this movie right here. I cannot even believe what these guys get up to in one night, but a big part of nice weather means vacation, and nothing means vacation like “What the hell happened?!”. Maybe not so much inspirational as it is an adventure you may never want to have but it’s fun and it’s crazy and it’s one hell of a story. It might make you double check the reasonable prices on that resort you were looking at a few weeks ago…
