There are some household items that you can’t skimp on… like a good vacuum. When your vacuum doesn’t pick up dirt the way it should, you know it’s time for a change. But many people make the mistake of buying inexpensive vacuums that end up breaking down after just a few months. Count the number of vacuums that you may have purchased over the course of a few years and you’ve spent much more money than you ever imagined!

Investing in a good vacuum is a sensible idea. You’ll need a better vacuum with features like HEPA filters to block dust and dander from the air in your home. The Dyson Ball Animal 2 vacuum cleaner has the best section to pull all the dirt and dust off floors and upholstery. I was given one to try and review. Here are my thoughts:

Dyson Ball Animal 2 Vacuum

The vacuum is easy to assemble and use. I unpacked the Dyson Ball Animal 2 and put it together. Within a few minutes, I was ready to vacuum.

I plugged it in, and hit the carpet with it first. I could feel a bit of resistance when I started on the carpet, and couldn’t believe the suction that came out of the wand! I only did a small patch and was amazed by the amount of dirt and dust it already picked up.  The Dyson Ball Animal 2 vacuum pulled dust out of my carpet that I didn’t even know was there!

The ball helps the vacuum swivel easily, which makes it simple to get around things without breaking your back.

Everything on the Dyson Animal 2 uses the same button release. The hose from the instant-release wand is long and flexible, and can reach high and small spaces. You can easily switch from vacuuming the carpet to detaching the long wand and cleaning the corners and ceilings, to cleaning the hardwood and tile floors.

There are several attachments and they are easy to hook them up;  the Tangle Free Turbine tool to thoroughly clean your couches and other upholstery, the Combination tool to help you reach up into the rafters and grab those cobwebs, and the articulating hard floor tool for all of your hard floors; and the Stair tool to clean your stairs.  If you have a pet, you’ll love the Dyson Groom tool which looks like a cat brush and it attaches to the long wand.

The Dyson Ball Animal 2 vacuum is easy to clean; all you have to do is pop off the bin, push down on a button, and you can easily empty dirt into the garbage. Once every month to two months, just remove and wash the bin and filter in cold water, allow to air dry, and pop back in.

The Dyson Animal 2 vacuum has a 5 year warranty for parts and labour including service and parts (free shipping too), and support from Dyson Experts. For the price, you have 5 years guarantee that if a problem does arise, you’re covered. Now that’s a smart investment!

  1. Awesome unboxing + demo vid! This vacuum definitely gets the job done and more! Dyson never disappoints.

  2. I am struggling with our current vacuum cleaner because it is losing suction and the brushes are wrapped in lint and hair that I can’t seem to remove completely. I would love to replace it with an awesome Dyson like this one!

  3. One of my biggest frustration is that my vaccuum doesn’t do a good job on the carpet, and that’s a big part of our living space! This would be so awesome to win! Thanks for the chance!

  4. Your dad will LOVE vacuuming now! haha. My current vacuum loses suction all the time & has no maneuverability to get into the places I need. Plus it’s so heavy. The Dyson Ball Animal 2 sounds like a cleaning dream come true!

  5. Florence Cochrane Reply

My biggest frustration is the lack of suction and the cord getting tangles.

  6. Catherine Robichaud Reply

I have been wanting a Dyson vacuum for years. This one sounds amazing. I would love the Groom tool for my cats and dog.

The cord on ours is too short and I keep having to unplug and replug it in!

What a dream vacuum! Sounds like the perfect one for our 4 pet household!

  9. My current vacuum does not ave much suction. I ave to go over the same area a few times.

  10. We have a regular Dyson right now and as much as I love it, I’ve done a number on it over the years. Really need a new one that I haven’t broken twice 😉

  11. My biggest struggle with my current vacuum is that it is so heavy and it is also hard to get into small places

    • I just noticed you are in Canada. Is this giveaway good in the U.S.?????

  12. My two biggest vacuum frustrations are the weight of my current vacuum cause it’s not easy to lug around and two it leaves all my dogs fine hairs behind.

  13. Amy Heffernan Reply

My biggest frustration is the cleaning power is not strong. I use a small stick vac and it SUCKS 🙁

  14. Everything about this vacuum looks amazing! Our current vacuum weighs eight trillion pounds and has mediocre suction at best. When I vacuum hard floors the dirt shoots out the back and hits my feet :/

  15. My current struggle with my current vacuum is it doesn’t suck up all of the things out of my carpet and flooring. I need a better vacuum. Thank you for hosting this giveaway

My biggest complaint is that ours is not working currently.

  17. I love the sound of this vacuum, my current vacuum is so heavy and hard to maneuver!

  18. I love the ANIMAL in this vacuum cleaners name too! It speaks to me of the power to suck up all the fluff my fur babies leave on my floors and sofas. This was an excellent review on the Dyson Ball Animal 2.Thanks so much. 🙂

  19. Our current vacuum is not too hard to clean, but the dyson is deffinitely easier and quicker to clean!

  20. My biggest frustration with my current vacuum is it’s lack of sucking power.

My biggest frustration is that my vacuum tosses dirt around more than it sucks it up.

My biggest problem is the weight of my vacum I have 2 flights of stairs to take it up and down and it still doesn’t pick up all the animal hair that seems to be around the home.

  23. My biggest issue is that I can’t get any suction no matter what I do..I clean it out and put a new bag in but it just won’t give any suction and on top of that it starts spitting the dirt back out!!! Help!! This would be awesome as I heard Dyson’s work really great! Plus I need something to help get all the birdseed and feathers out of the way! A broom is not working!

  24. Corrina Paisley Reply

Oh my, this product looks heavenly! My current vacuum just doesn’t seem to be able to suck all the small tiny stuff so my carpets still don’t look as clean as I know they can be, nevermind the fact that it seems to kick the dust back out so there always seems to be dog smell happening during vacuuming. Booo!

  25. Stephanie Phelps Reply

I know my biggest frustration is mine started out with great pick up power and within a month it was like it did not have the power it use to. I also find my attachments are not long enough in some spots~

  26. Tara Betterley Reply

My biggest frustration is that I have a hard time maneuvering it and it is so heavy to drag around.

  27. Great review. It looks like a vacuum I could sure use (what with having 4 dogs). My biggest frustration with my current vacuum is the lack of suction power.

  28. Andrea Amy Reply

WOW! I love how this is good for carpets, tiles and floors! Amazing. My biggest frustration is how heavy and bulky my current vaccum is. Its not the easiest to lug up and down the starts.

  29. Wow! So awesome you’re doing this giveaway’ :). I think my biggest frustration with vacuums is that I don’t own one! My husband and I live in a basement apartment and we have to go upstairs and borrow our landlords every time.. which means lugging it down the stairs. (It’s really heavy). Would love to have a Dyspn vacuum.. always wanted one! 🙂

  30. This is my DREAM vacuum! Great review of the product (really makes me want to throw my current one out the window!) How can I choose just one frustration… My current vacuum is over 10 years old, its big/bulky, and is such a pain to use and push around that I really don’t vacuum as much as I should. It doesn’t get in the tight places and the hose has the worst suction that its not even an option! Not to mention having pets and kids running around makes carpet cleaning that much more important *insert frustration face here*… This vacuum would make cleaning time a breeze!!

Even if I don’t win the vacuum – its just felt good to vent! Haha! Thanks for doing this giveaway!

So I have so many frustrations with my current vacuum cleaner. It is way too heavy for starters. I feel like I am dragging it all the time. It section is not strong enough doesn’t get what I need to up. And also it doesn’t reach the spots I need to get to because it is so big and cumbersome it would make my life a whole lot easier if I had a vacuum cleaner that was up-to-date. Lol. I have heard amazing things about Dyson. Thank you so much for the chance to win such a generous fun giveaway.

  32. Our vacuum used to do the job, but now with a baby & small dog I’m constantly cleaning the floors & it doesn’t seem to pick up food or pebbles off the floor. Also cordless would be so great!
