How many hours a week do you spend in the kitchen, cooking meals and cleaning up? As a busy mom with a hectic schedule, I’m often flustered with dinner time… planning, shopping, preparing, cooking and then clean up. I welcome any appliance and recipe that makes my life a little easier.

If I can reduce the amount of time spent in the kitchen, I’m all over it. My husband works late hours so I do most of the cooking during the week. I do enjoy cooking, but sometimes mama needs a little break! It’s a challenge to prepare delicious meals the whole family will enjoy, fast and simplified – every night of the week. It becomes exhausting.

What’s your Mother’s Day tradition? Do your kids make you breakfast in bed? Does hubby prepare you a lovely lunch? Or do you go to your favourite restaurant for brunch or dinner?

Going out for lunch or dinner on Mother’s Day is ideal, however, the restaurants are usually packed. A nice meal prepared at home by the kids and the husband would be appreciated. With the Philips Airfryer, preparing a meal for mom is easy peasy.

The Philips Airfryer is just that – it cooks and fries your food with hot air, which means you can enjoy the fried taste of cooking without all of the oil. Using Rapid Air Technology, you can fry, bake, grill, broil, braise and caramelize your food in less time and right on your counter-top.

Philips Airfryer

The adjustable temperature control up to 390 degrees allows you to cook a variety of food. It has a 1.8 lb cooking basket capacity which is enough for a family of four, but because it cooks so quickly, you can cook several batches in no time. It also has a 30-minute timer with ready signal and auto shut-off, so you don’t have to keep your eye on it diligently, as you would if you’re grilling. Clean up is a snap; the basket comes out so you can wash and the bucket is also washable and dishwasher safe.

The Philips Airfryer comes with a recipe book to help inspire you – you can cook spring rolls, chicken wings, frittatas, even desserts! Also available is the new XL Digital Airfryer, which has 2.65 lb cooking capacity for larger families. It retails for $249.00 – $299.00, and is available at Hudson’s Bay, Williams-Sonoma, Bed Bath & Beyond, Home Outfitters, Home Hardware,,, Best Buy and Future Shop.

Well guess what?!? The lovely people at Philips are giving an amotherworld reader a Philips Airfryer of their very own!

The Philips Mother’s Day Giveaway, valued at $350, will include:

My Mom is no longer with us, but my kids carry on a tradition of a nice meal, usually a BBQ, always get flowers like lilies so I can plant the bulbs outside and just spend quality time as a family.

  3. The kids and my husband prepare a nice dinner , usually get me some beautiful plants or seeds for our flower garden. i would keep for myself because would be a great addition in the kitchen to make meals!

  4. We don’t really have any Mother’s Day traditions but this year it falls on my sons Bday so I’ll be making a cake 🙂

  5. I’d like to win it for my parents because they love fried foods and should be looking for healthier options so I know if I gave it them they would definitely use it (my dad also loves gadgets!*lol*)

  6. We don’t really have much of a mother’s day tradition except dinner with my mom and brunch with my mother in law. My husband usually throws together a nice little picnic snack for a day at the park the day before mother’s day and I get to enjoy it with my boys. I would love to keep this for myself because I think it’s an awesome gadget to have in the kitchen.

No tradition, I say Happy Mother’s Day to Mom and she pretends like the day is worth all the hype.
But this would be perfect for her, She loves Her Airfyer and to have a bigger better one would be great.

  30. We always go out for Mother’s Day. But given my recent health change, this would be ideal..I would even opt not to go out and cook using this Airfryer instead.

  32. We always do brunch for my mom over at my brother’s house! I would love to win this for my mom because she is trying to eat healthier but still loves fried food so its been tough.

  33. No true traditions. Our family tries to dedicate a day/ dinner or brunch with my mother and mother in law and my kids and husband do breakfast! Always try to make time for everyone. This would be a great tool in my hectic household! Working as a teacher full time and a mom of 2, and a husband who works shift work preparing meals are not always easy. This could provide a fun and healthy alternative to some low prep meals!
