What’s on your travel list for 2016? While exotic places like Myanmar and Sri Lanka are on my travel radar one day, this year I have narrowed down my travel list for 2016 that are more attainable.
New York Times’ 52 Places to Go in 2016 includes my great city of Toronto, along with some other lovely destinations that would be on any wanderluster’s travel bucket list. Some places on NY Times’ list are questionable, however.
So I made my own list – a travel list for 2016 that I could likely and hopefully achieve this year. Here are my top places on my travel list for 2016:
What’s on Your Travel List for 2016?

Maine
Summer days and lazy nights in Maine? For a casual New England summer vacation, Maine is a charming postcard of lighthouses and beaches. Surrounded by Acadia National Park and located at the edge of the sea, Bar Harbor offers adventure and a gorgeous landscape. Maine’s biggest city, Portland, offers delectable tastes for serious foodies and craft beer lovers. And of course, the outlet and boutique shopping in the coastal village of Freeport.

Coastal California
My dream, since I was a child myself, was to rent a convertible and drive alone the Californian coastline. Now that I have kids of my own, I figure this would be a wonderful opportunity to do as a family. A coastal California road trip would begin in the great city of San Francisco and finish in sunny San Diego.

Prague
This European gem of a city has become as popular a tourist destination as Rome, Amsterdam and London. Visitors from around the world come in droves, to be captured by the beauty and mystery of a 14th-century stone bridge, a 9th century hilltop castle and the Vltava river.

Ireland
Ireland is an enchanting and romantic, where legend and modern life collide. Haunted and gothic castles like Kilkenny and Blarney evoke visions of magical knights and fair maidens. Ireland is well-known for its spectacular scenery and picturesque villages and towns. The whole family would enjoy a trip weaving magic, history and exploration.

Costa Rica
Known for its beaches, volcanoes and immense biodiversity, Costa Rica is a tropical haven for the adventure-seeker. Along with exploring the pura vida (the pure life), I’d want to experience one of the many outdoor adventure offerings. Costa Rica would be an amazing trip to take solo, or with your significant other – I’d leave the kids home for this one.
