With family day less then a week away there are many great events and happenings in the Ottawa area for Family Day. Wondering what to do Family Day weekend in Ottawa?

Whether you join in the fun for one day, or the full weekend, there is something for everyone.  Here are some of my top picks for spending Family Day weekend in Ottawa!

1.  Bust a Move Family Day Kids Camp at the Ottawa Athletic Club

This camp is for children ages 6-12 and runs on Monday February 18 from 9-4p.m. with before and after care also available.  This is a fantastic option for parents who still have to work and need to explore childcare options! Your child gets to explore within Ottawa’s premiere fitness club in a safe and fully supervised manner.

They will experience yoga, zumba, squash, tennis, swimming, crafts and MORE! Know what is even more fantastic? All money goes directly to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Society and parents receive a charitable tax donation receipt!

 2. Funatorium Explorium

Where else can you wall climb, joust, lego build, participate in obstacle courses, try out karate and yoga, attempt to beat a Guinness World Record and play with the whole family in one spot?!  This great event is back again in Ottawa for the second year in a row and is taking place at the Ernst & Young Centre on Uplands Drive.

There will be a ton of exhibitors with family friendly information to share with you but even more things for the children to do and play with.  Activity and fun will be everywhere!

3. Winterlude

Coming into its third and final weekend, the NCC’s Winterlude is extremely family friendly with tons to see and do.  Bundle up in your snowsuits and head over to Jacques Cartier Park in Gatineau for hours of snow sliding.  These snow slides are not just for the kids but grown ups enjoy the fun too!

Head over to Dows Lake to explore then skate down the Rideau Canal to downtown Ottawa.  Explore the ice sculptures at Confederation Park and end the day with a hot chocolate and of course a beavertail.  There are also many family friendly places to eat throughout the downtown core.

Enjoy some dinner in the Market, Sparks Street or Elgin Street.  The kids will be sure to sleep after this day long adventure!

Have a fun and safe family day weekend in Ottawa!
