Travel has always been a source of inspiration and transformation for me. It’s not just about the destinations but the fleeting moments in between: a candid smile from a stranger, the way light filters through a canopy of trees in a dreamy garden, or a cityscape lit up at night, blurred in motion. These are the snapshots that stay with us, shaping how we see the world and ourselves. This is why I’m so excited to share that I’ve joined my sister as a partner in her unique business, Passepartout 1872, a brand that captures the essence of travel and transforms it into timeless wearable art.

Turning travel moments into wearable art with Passepartout 1872

What started as her solo venture has now blossomed into our shared passion: taking those fleeting moments from our travel journeys and turning them into scarves, sarongs, and handbags — each piece designed from photographs taken on the move. These aren’t just accessories; they’re stories woven into fabric, carrying the memory, movement, and meaning of places seen and feelings felt.

Passepartout embodies cultivated elegance with an edge, crafted for the inspired global wanderer. Every collection begins as a photograph — a visual story captured in motion — which is then reimagined into designs that carry both emotion and purpose.

Art becomes attire. Memory becomes movement. Story becomes style.

This is more than a brand; it’s a tribute to the transformative power of travel and the beauty of storytelling through design. Joining my sister on this journey feels deeply personal and incredibly exciting. Together, we’re building something meaningful that connects with people who share our love of exploration, creativity, and style.

What led me here

Over the past 18 years of amotherworld.com — yes, it really has been that long! — I’ve explored and shared every chapter of motherhood: from pregnancy to the early years, through the school-aged phase and right into the unpredictable territory of tweens and teens. Along the way, one theme has remained constant: the importance of self-care for moms.

I’ve often written about how essential it is for mothers to carve out space for themselves — to step away, even briefly, from the responsibilities of marriage and parenting. For me, that often meant travel, particularly the kind that centers wellness. Think serene landscapes, nature walks, restorative yoga, and quiet moments of meditation — all ways to reconnect with myself and nurture my mental well-being.

Travel, in its many forms, has always been a deep source of inspiration. Family travel, especially, has played a meaningful role in my life. Whether it’s multi-generational trips or exploring new destinations with my children, I’ve always believed in immersing ourselves in the local culture — wandering neighborhoods, discovering hidden shops, joining in community festivals, and tasting the flavours that make a place unique. While iconic landmarks are always worth a visit, it’s the small, unexpected moments that stay with us the longest — those that invite us to move at the pace of local life, with mindfulness and respect.

All of these experiences, woven over nearly two decades, have naturally led to this new chapter: partnering with my sister on Passepartout — a brand born from a shared love of travel and memory-making. Together, we’re transforming meaningful journeys into wearable art — beautiful, thoughtful pieces that hold a story, spark connection, and celebrate the places and moments that shape us.
