If you know me well, then you know I’m a #hockeymom! Both of my boys love playing competitive hockey, which means we are at an ice rink 5-6 times a week.

When they’re off the ice, what do you guess they enjoy doing? Play road hockey, watch our local hockey team, and watch hockey games on TV. Once in a while, we’ll have a chance to see a hockey game live, which is always an amazing experience. In particular, we enjoy attending Toronto Marlies games – hockey at its best! This is where the magic of the Toronto Maple Leafs begins – William Nylander, Morgan Rielly, Nazem Kadri, Jake Gardiner, and 8 other players on the current Maple Leafs roster started with the Marlies.

What’s more, taking the family to a Marlies game is an affordable option to watch amazing hockey live. On Tuesday, December 26 at 3 p.m. the Marlies face the Belleville Senators in the home of the Toronto Maple Leafs! It’s going to be a great game – Marlies are 3-0 against Belleville (AHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators) since they joined the AHL in the summer. The team became an instant rival of Toronto’s, forming an AHL version of the battle of Ontario. The Marlies won first ACC series game against Belleville by a score of 2-1 in a shootout.

My son’s hockey team had the fantastic opportunity to share the ice with the Toronto Marlies on November 22, 2015. They were “Future Stars” for the game that day, skating out onto the ice to hear the national anthems alongside the Toronto Marlies. They had a wonderful experience! I’m not sure if the kids or the parents were more excited!

December 26th is the Toronto Marlies 5th annual Boxing Day Game! The Boxing Day game is a Club Maple Leafs Game – Club Maple Leafs is the official Toronto Maple Leafs Kids’ Club for the youngest members of Leafs Nation. Those who attend the Boxing Day game will see their favourite Marlies players as Cartoon Avatars on the Air Canada Centre scoreboard. The game will feature a “Kid Announcer”, and guests will be able to dance with their family on the Air Canada Centre’s Video Board during the OshKosh Family Dance Cam.
