Bloggers and media are talking about the mommy wars again and naturally, I have to say “oh come on!”
You just have to wonder if media are creating these labels – is it their own fault for rehashing the term “mommy wars”? Are media regurgitating content just for page views or are these mom blogger wars really still going on?
I’ve been a work-at-home mom since I had both of my children. Now when my kids were younger, I do think I may have been looked at differently because of my choices. I breastfed, co-slept, held my baby most of the time. Looking back, I’m sure I was judged and I likely judged others too. But I quickly came to realize that our choices as mothers – as WOMEN – are personal choices and no one has the right to judge. Everyone does what is best for their family and frankly, that’s nobody else’s business.
Now that my kids are in school and I’m out of the baby/toddler stage, I’m so out of the loop, I wonder – is this still happening?
People are talking about the Mommy Wars – yet again – and I have to wonder, are women not supporting one another? Or is the media to blame for the term, Mommy Wars?
Tell me readers, are the “mommy wars” real? Or just a term coined by media?
By the way, More Magazine conducted a survey and will be out soon… how many parents were actually surveyed, I don’t know.
