Every morning, blurry-eyed and half-asleep, I stumble downstairs and head straight for the coffee maker. I can’t function without coffee.
Before I start my day, I must begin my daily ingestion (a vat) of coffee. The smell of coffee alone perks me up – it’s such a welcoming scent first thing in the morning.
I’ve had various coffee makers over the years – single cup, traditional brew, percolator, French press, I’ve ground my own beans, combined blends… I’ve tried many ways to get the perfect cup of coffee.
I enjoy variety with my coffee too; from regular to dark roast, flavoured to espresso, I can have coffee any way, any time! So when Folgers invited me to embrace mornings by waking up with a cup of the new Mocha Swirl Folgers® Gourmet Selections® K-Cup® for the Keurig Mini Plus Brewer, I had to try.
Of course the jingle, “the best part of waking up is Folgers in your cup” also has left an imprint on my brain!
I like that the Keurig brews one cup at a time, and guests can have their pick of flavours from the wide variety of Folgers blends. Folgers did a survey and it revealed that 84% of Canadian coffee drinkers who have tried single serve coffee enjoy it for the convenience (38%) as well as the variety it offers (27%).
As soon as I made my first cup with the easy-brew Keurig, my 9-year-old immediately said, “Mmmm smells good in here. Is that vanilla?”
The aroma of Mocha Swirl fills the room – it’s quite a pleasant scent. The taste is smooth, silky and chocolatey. That extra flavour truly was a lovely addition to my regular morning coffee. I didn’t know this, but one in five prefer to have a hint of sweet flavour in their coffee.
I really liked how the Keurig Mini brewed the coffee – the coffee was hot and flavourful. The worst part about brewed coffee is the bit left on the bottom – you can never really drink it and it’s just a waste. Plus after sitting there for a bit, the coffee doesn’t taste very good.
The Mocha Swirl K-Cup® coffee fills a large-sized mug, so I can enjoy without having to go for a refill in a few minutes. Also I can fill a travel-sized mug when I’m heading out for a meeting or longer drive.
I also enjoy having a mid-afternoon coffee and this is also when I really enjoy Folgers’ other flavoured blends, like the Caramel Drizzle or Vanilla Biscotti K-Cups. Creamy buttery caramel and vanilla cookie? Yum!
