WestJet Announces Disney Frozen-Themed Plane

WestJet has unveiled its new, Frozen-themed airplane, featuring Anna, Elsa, and Olaf. Disney artists and cast members collaborated with WestJet to design the Boeing 737.

The outside of the aircraft tells a story – sisters Anna and Elsa celebrate sisterhood and the magic of snow. The magic travels to warm the front of the aircraft where Olaf can be found enjoying a summer day on the beach. In the Disney film Frozen, Olaf dreams of going someplace warm, and now he’ll be going to sunny destinations along with passengers.

The inside of the plane also has a similar design – the overhead bins and headrest covers have a cold theme in the back, but as you move toward the middle of the plane, the interior decoration transitions to become warmer and sunny towards the front of the plane.

According to WestJet, it took the painting crew 21 days of 12-hour rotations to finish the paint job, which took more than 170 gallons of paint and includes sections of paint mixed with glitter. Check out a time-lapse video of the plane being painted.

Disney’s Frozen Will Warm You Up

Imagine the world in an eternal winter. Nooooo!

Disney’s new animated film Frozen stars Anna who is fearless and optimistic (voice of Kristen Bell). She sets off on a journey to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel) whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter.

Anna teams up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven. On their journey to save the kingdom, they encounter everest-like conditions, mystical creatures and a hilarious snowman named Olaf.

The animated comedy-adventure has a sweet message about sisterhood, family and love. Let’s not forget the beautiful effects (in 3D especially).

Frozen is loosely based on a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale —The Snow Queen — updated with a lovely musical score and superb vocal talent. Thinking this could easily turn into a musical theatre.

Frozen is like a winter wonderland of a family fun and perfect for the whole family this holiday season. It’ll be another Disney movie to add to the collection!

Disney’s “Frozen” is now in theatres and is rated PG.
