What an emotional ride for Emily Maynard as she was down to the final three on Monday’s Bachelorette.

The mom of one jetted  off to the tropical Curacao where she could spend some one-on-one time with each of the three men, Arie Luyendyk Jr., Jef Holm and Sean Lowe.

Emily didn’t really know at the beginning of her final date with him how he felt about Sean… and he finally responded by declaring his love for her during their dinner.  He also wrote a letter to Emily’s daughter, Ricki, in which he stated that he wouldn’t try to replace her real father.  But it seemed too late.

Jef, a cute skateboarder type, has been open about his feelings for Emily.  You could tell that the two are smitten with one another.  When Emily handed the invitation to Jef to the Fantasy Suite, Jef turned her down out of respect for their families.  Emily was impressed but hoped that she could’ve been the one to turn him down!

Finally, Emily spends the day with Arie, the race-car driver (ironic).  The sparks she feels with Arie continued as usual… they kissed and kissed some more.  Emily even admitted that she wondered if her relationship with Arie could have more than just chemistry.

Remember that these two were making out on their first date – once the sparks are gone, will they last?
Emily didn’t even extend an invitation to the Fantasy Suite because she said she didn’t trust herself being alone with him. Whoa!

Final ceremony time, Emily had to choose… Sean was sent home.  His final words to Emily and to the camera were so genuine and heartbreaking! Such a great guy – will he be the next Bachelor?!? He sure should be!

Now it’s between Jeff and Arie… who will Emily choose?

My guess is Emily should choose Jeff… he’s adorable, sweet, down-to-earth and ready to be a father, even though he seems young.  Arie would be traveling a lot and he doesn’t seem ready to give up his single lifestyle.  I’m thinking that their chemistry would likely fizzle.

What do you think?

I am sucked in. Yes, The Bachelorette and southern belle Emily Maynard have reeled me in, along with some of the bachelors.

Unlike other Bachelor and Bachelorette shows, this one is pretty down to earth – much like Emily herself, who has a daughter, Rickie. Not only is Emily on the search for love, she’s also looking for the right man to be a father to her little girl.

Emily is a beautiful, gracious, down to earth, confident yet vulnerable woman and that southern drawl is ;

Emily and Chris had their one-on-one date and danced in an empty parking lot where country star Luke Bryan performed just for them.  Despite his serial-killer eyes, Chris impressed Emily and got a rose.

On the group date, Emily put the guys to the test by introducing them to her girlfriends.  One of Emily’s friends says Sean is “the genetic gift to the world.”

Ryan shows his true colours when he tells Emily and friends that he’d still love her if she got fat, he just might love ON her as much. Wow!  She should have just sent him home right there!

Who impressed the most? Sean and Doug scored major points after this group date, in which the men put on their potential daddy hats when playing with a bunch of kids at the park.

Race car driver Arie scored the second one-on-one date with Emily – in Dollywood!  Dolly Parton herself shows up to give the couple a private concert and Emily some advice.

After Arie reveals he lived with a woman with two kids, he seems like the perfect match. He seems to know how to kiss too!

Kalon should have been sent packing after his condescending pompous remarks. Alessandro is sent packing because he called having an instant family a “compromise”.  Ricki sends Tony home to be with his son.  Stevie also goes home after he fails to win a rose.

What did you think of Monday night’s episode?

Here we go again! Another season of The Bachelor has started and everyone is talking about it.

The Bachelor premiered on ABC Monday night and the women going all out to impress Ben Flajnik.

One gimmick after another…

First it was one bachelorette wearing an enormous hat… Holly, a 34-year-old pharmaceutical rep from Kentucky, who tried to impress the Bachelor by wearing a huge Derby hat to let him know what her hometown is known for: “beautiful women and fast horses.”

Then,  Anna, the 25-year-old student from Detroit came out of the limo, said nothing at all and walked right by the bachelor!   “That’s a bold move. That’s awesome. Gotta be some kind of first,” Ben said.  But sadly, Anna did not receive a rose.

Another surprise of the evening was Sheryl, 72, who got out of the limo on crutches!  Was she competing for the Bachelor too?  No – her granddaughter Brittney, a 26-year-old medical sales rep from Denver, was in the race to get a rose.

So who went way over the top?

Lindzi, a 26-year-old from Seattle, rode in on a horse!  Of course, she made “Bachelor history” with her grand entrance… she also won the first impression rose.

There was already lots of drama in the house as Jenna, a 27-year-old blogger from New York, spent most of the evening crying.

There appeared to be a couple of Bachelorettes hooking up too!  Yes – Monica Spannbauer was making moves on a fellow contestant, Blakely Shea, rather than Ben!  whispered to Blakely, “You’re beautiful, you’re amazing,” and asked for her phone number.

Never a dull moment!
