Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are ending their marriage.

“It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton,” Moore, 49,  said in a statement.

“As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life. This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation.”

Kutcher, 33, tweeted his thoughts:

“I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi…” adding,

“Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and light, AK.”

Sad that yet another Hollywood marriage is ending… but we did see this one coming.

Could their 16-year age gap be to blame?

It seems the tabloids about Kutcher’s alleged affair in September were true.  It also explains Moore’s recent racy twitter pics, showing skin and seemingly trying to hold on to her youth.

Apparently the couple went to Kabbalah counselling and reportedly trying to reconcile at Moore’s ex, Bruce Willis’ vacation home in Turks and Caicos.

But it just wasn’t enough to keep this marriage together.
