With the fall weather finally here it is time to change over our closets and start looking to the fall fashion 2017 trends. As a lover of all things glamorous and new, fall always brings out the best in designers and this season is no different.
So you are probably wondering what’s happening this fall season and what should I expect, but more importantly where should I invest my fashion dollars?
It’s in the Details
From chain, button and zipper details on dresses, jackets, and coats, to the return of bold plaid fabrics, the runways were full of exciting details. In addition bold stripes, velvet and lace are everywhere. If you are looking to add a new piece for the season then why not try a fabulous tunic top? Paired with skinny jeans or leather leggings it’s a must own item.
Bad to the Bone
Leather, leather and more leather. Look out for leather jackets, leather skirts, and leather trim detailing this season. Additionally fur is making a come back. Fur vests, and fur trimmed collars and sleeves are giving a luxurious and lush vibe to fall dressing. Bring on the cowl neck sweaters and fur vests paired with a retro printed ankle pant.
Black is King
No surprise that black is back for fall but in addition to the classic black other colours as hues of grey, chocolate brown, cobalt blue, orange, bold purples and winter white were all over the runways. Additionally red is important this season and was dubbed the “official” colour of Fall 2017. So why not pop your favorite black outfit with a stunning red cashmere tie coat? Do not be afraid to use some of these bold tones this season to freshen up last fall’s dark colours.
Masculine Flare Meets Feminine Touch
Ruffles, ruching, tuxedo jackets, and bow ties are all making a big splash this season. From feminine detailed white blouses with stunning ruffled collars, to fabulous draped and ruched dresses, femininity is back but being contrasted to a more masculine silhouette. So why not mix your go to blazer with a crisp and new detailed white blouse and skinny dark denim jean (maybe even a new pair with rips and wisps).
If you are looking to add a few new pieces this season be sure to keep in mind what you already have in your closet and which of the trends would fit in best. Keep true to your personal style and remember with seasonal trends less is more.
