Holiday Gift Guide 2015 smallAs you know, I’m not a big fan of cleaning. I may have mentioned before like a broken record that I’d rather spend my time more effectively rather than scrubbing floors. There’s always a new show to binge-watch on Netflix, after all. Plus, there’s a book that isn’t going to write itself.

But because I don’t think it’s healthy to breathe in those dust bunnies, I find ways to make cleaning more bearable. For me, this means kicking the kids outside to play while I blast some high-energy music, and getting my clean on.

I prefer to use natural household cleaning products. I tried AspenClean products and will not go back to anything else! AspenClean products are made with natural ingredients derived from plants and minerals and organic essential oils. The AspenClean Professional Edition Whole House Cleaning Kit also comes with matching microfibre cloths – so smart! There is one for cleaning the bathroom, one for the kitchen, one for glass, and one all-purpose cleaner – which I use for dusting.

I found these natural cleaning products to work very well, cleaning up dust easily with the microfibre clothes, and leaving a pleasant scent behind. I love that the bottles and matching cloths are colour coordinated, so I never have to second guess which cloth is for what household chore.

I repair and mend when I can, never replace anything unless it is beyond repair. My only cleaning tip is to do a small bit everyday

  2. I use vinegar and baking soda a lot of the time to clean the oven, counters and tables.

I use natural cleaners (I really like the Canadian company C is for Clean), and also make my own cleaners with vinegar.

  4. I use vinegar and baking soda a lot, plus green products. I am allergic to so much, so most cleaners are way too scented with way too many chemicals in it. Hot water sometimes does the trick too 🙂

I use good quality cleaning cloths instead of paper towels for cleaning surfaces – not only do they do a better cleaning job and not leave any dust particles etc behind, it is also better for the environment. Cleaner and greener!

  12. Use Vinegar, baking soda and lemon juice as toxic free alternatives to heavy cleaners. Feel free to add lemon or orange essential oil
