YOU ARE INVITED!
What:
Old School Blogging: Write because you love to write. Blog because you love to tell stories. I’ve been feeling a shift in the blogging/social media community and I think it’s pretty awesome.
Why:
Bloggers are so inundated by brands and PR pitches nowadays that we are craving to go back to the time when blogging was done just for the love of writing. Some of you may still need or want to monetize your blog and that’s absolutely fine but let’s not forget content and the quality of writing.
Let’s go back to the days when the blogging community was huge and supportive and the only means of communication with others on the internet, before Facebook and Twitter.
How:
Use the hashtag #OSB when Tweeting your posts, which will encourage others to read and comment on the blog post, not on Twitter or Facebook. Using #OSB will also encourage bloggers to build upon this #OSB community.
Visit other blogs! Comment! Make a point of visiting at least two blogs a day and leaving two comments.
When: Starting now.
Hashtag: #OSB
Won’t you join me?

I’d like to see more #OSB!!
This resonates with me big time. For kicks, I sometimes try to pinpoint the EXACT POINT IN TIME when blogging switched to what it is now.
Folly, I know, and it doesn’t matter.
What matters is that there are still those who want to write and tell stories.
To each his own, to be sure, but I’m glad there are some left in my tribe.
How old is OSB considered?
I’d say before bloggers started putting ads on their blogs.
It’s funny, since I have only started blogging 2.5 years ago, but the one thing I have evolved to realize in that short time is the value of great content, great writing.
While I have set up a site I am very proud of, I want to refocus and really look at how I write. Every post won’t be poignant, but every so often I want to step out of my comfort zone a bit.
Great hashtag, great concept. Looking forward to it!!
Thanks Rebecca! I’m with you – want to regroup and refocus on my writing. BlissDom Canada along with recent discussions on #OSB helped me to realize that!
Hi…This is the first time I have heard of OSB and I thank you for letting us know about it…
My friend is looking for an information about OSB and I think this is perfect for her…I thank you for featuring this in your post…
I may not be an OSB blogger since I started blogging latter than most, but in talking to a lot of peeps (at Blissdom) who have been doing it for YEARS, I feel like I missed the boat and I so want to be ON this one! Count me IN!!
Yay Natasha! Glad to hear you’re participating 🙂
I may not be an OSB technically, but I believe in the writing. Thanks for starting this.
I will certainly try to remember this hashtag! Thanks for sharing this.
“Write because you love to write. Blog because you love to tell stories.” I love this quote so much!!Thanks for making us aware of this information…
