I love where I live – north of Toronto (a sub-suburb I would say) – a family-oriented hockey town close enough to the city, but with a small town feel. What I love even more is that I don’t have to go shopping in the city if I don’t want to!

I can find all of the fashion-forward brands that I love at Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket, the best shopping mall north of Toronto. Since the renovations and revamping of the mall, many new fabulous trendy and upscale stores have opened their doors.

With brands like Coach, Michael Kors, M by Mendocino, Browns and Lululemon, I can shop for the latest fashion and trends all in one destination. Did I mention the mall also has The Bay, Sephora, Aldo, Victoria’s Secret, Disney, Target and an Apple store? Not to mention Sears, Toys R Us and Roots.

The selection of stores at Upper Canada Mall offers something for everyone; from Gap and Old Navy to Aeropostale and Aritzia, young trend-setters can shop to their heart’s desire alongside older folks. I love that the mall also has boutique-style stores like Rudsak, Simon Chang and the fabulous Eeva & Eve. Upper Canada Mall really has become the area’s fashion destination for stylish women looking for exciting brands.

Upper Canada Mall

The mall launched a brand new glossy magazine entitled Gorgeous this past fall (spring/summer issue out soon) which is also available online, along with a fashion/lifestyle blog. They really have covered it all!

The mall is very child-friendly; there are family washrooms available and even the men’s washrooms have change tables! The mall hosts stroller walks for parents twice a week with a fitness instructor (free of charge!). Bottle warmers and microwaves are available at guest services for parents and fire-truck strollers can be rented at main entrances.

Upper Canada Mall is very much involved in organizing community events and partnerships as well, including Southlake Regional Health Centre. During school breaks, there is always something going on for kids – this past March Break, the mall hosted Zoo to You where kids were able to get up close and personal with a baby alligator, tarantula and snakes!

  1. I agree with this post but you forgot one thing–the mall has two dedicated womens only nursing rooms that are the nicest of any mall I’ve ever been too. They have couches and flat screen tv’s and lots of seating. Its very nice to have such nice rooms to nurse your baby and they are definitely worth mentioning!

    • Thanks for commenting! I didn’t visit the nursing rooms – my kids are much older now – but that’s wonderful. Makes it so convenient for moms to spend the day shopping at the mall.
